Antarctic Journey Itinerary

Lesson Topic: History and Nature of Science
Objectives: One of the most important aspects of being part of an expedition to Antarctica is being able to plan effectively for what you will need to survive in the extreme conditions of the continent for a two-month period. This activity provides students with an introduction to the gear and supplies they would need on an expedition and why many of these supplies are unique to taking a journey to the Antarctic. This activity also encourages students to critically think and gain skills in planning, maps and navigation, and the environment/climate.
