Dust in polar ice sheets
Analusis(invited), 22(8), 44-46.

Insoluble dust deposited within polar snow provides paleoclimatic information which is derived from changes in its abundance, type and size distribution. Over glacial/interglacial time scales increased atmospheric dustiness is linked closely to cooler global surface temperatures, but on shorter (decadal to centennial) time scales atmospheric dust concentrations are controlled by regional-scale, rather than global-scale, processes.
